Heading Home

The drive back to the airport and the flight eastbound was uneventful. We got into PIT and were looking for a TV with the Pitt game on. The only was the wasn't attached to a fleet of smokers was turned off shortly after we grabbed seats. It was closing time.

We got on our flight to JHW and after a short hop at BFD we made it into town on time. Given I didn't have any furniture left in my apartment, Mike put me up at his house. We grabbed some beer on the way to Mike's house and were telling hiking stories to Tom and Kathy until the wee hours.

I was slow to get moving Saturday a.m. Mike came over to help me get the dregs into my car. It took longer than I had imagined. Then there was the last stop at The Reg to drop off some pieces and parts and then the final stop, dumping the cabel crap off at Time Warner.

I got out of J-toen headed south around 12:30, I wasn;t going to make dinner in Virginia. I did make it in time for my father's birthday cake, he was turning 75 in a few days. The whole family was able to be together. Good times!

The next afternoon, I needed to head back to my home. I was heading north before 1pm. This would be my first drive from NoVa to Schenectady. I found it takes exactly 7 hours. I parked in front of the building(much to the annoyance of some putzy neighbors) and was unloaded in about 12 trips. Hmmm, staff meeting at 9:30am Monday morning. At least there was time to do some laundry while I got the cable turned back on...
