Zion Canyon

The walk through Refrigerator Canyon is for the most part unremarkable. It's just a series of moderate switchbacks that on a hot day it can offer welcome shade for hikers in both directions. However, it does make for an interesting backdrop when looking down from above. Mike caught a snappie of these shadows on the canyon wall.

The next stop, and what feels like halfway to me, is Walter's Wiggles, a series of small, steep switchbacks that really get your thighs pumping. I don't have any images handy from my previous trips, but the two links below have some really sweet ones. Steve Bern's is the coolest(click on the link below). As you look at his image, Refrigerator Canyon is in the lower part, the trail entering from the right. Walter's Wiggles is at the bottom center. Angels Landing is at the top of the sheer cliff face that is in shadow(not the very top of Steve's image).

The next link shows The Wiggles from above.

Not far from the top of The Wiggles is Scout Lookout where we took a break to take in the view.

Uh, oh, Keith is posing(you should see the drop off behind the tree!)
