The tower in the right side of the image supports one side of the gantry that is used to move heavy equipment. It's been in use since the dam was constructed!
Electricity produced at the dam goes onto the grid at 230,000 volts! Now I understand what my grandfather meant when he talked about "pushing power down the lines..."
