We decided, since we got a late start, to skip the side trip to Orderville Canyon. It wasn't long before the river became very narrow. As we got closer to Wall Street, the vegetation also became thinner.
This rock is called The Pillow. You could say it marks the entrance to Wall Street, the narrowest section of The Narrows.
It always nice to run into some other hikers, they give your photographs a reference for scale. Ed Tomassini has shared images with me taken by a favorite photographer of his who ALWAYS includes a human somewhere in the image. It really helps, as you can see here.
