The Last Night

When I asked one of the tram drivers about Sweet William's he mentioned another place to try, Ted and Alice's. Well, I heard him wrong. We made a quick drive down the main drag in Hurricane(that's pronounced "hur-i-can"). I soon discovered I misheard the man, it's Ted and Allen's Sports Grill. Well, a sports bar! We didn't feel so bad about wearing our best trail outfits to dinner. Not to worry, I threw on my fleece and had changed my shoes, there not being enough time to go back to the room. Besides, the Pittsburgh game was on. We walked in, barely looked at our menus and discovered the kickoff had just happened before the commercial we were watching. Awesome! All I needed now was a beer. Almost instantly I had a very tall Heefe Weis sitting in front of me. This is Utah, I thought disbelievingly, as I took a look drink.

Next came ordering dinner. I think we both got the steak special. I don't remember for sure. All I do know is we both thought about going out to the car to get the camera. Mike's meal came with the biggest baked potato that either of us had ever seen plated before(well, there was the tuber competetition at the Wattsburg County Fair). We must have really put some miles on earlier. To our waitresses astonishment we both cleared our plates before the first quarter was over. We had another beer, paid our tab and wheeled our way back to Springdale to catch the rest of the game and a soak. We did a fairly good job of packing to make the next morning a little less hectic.
